Jim Richter, Steve Head, and Rick Shinall established the firm on July 1, 1998. After 15 years with the firm, Jim Richter retired in January 2013. Rick Shinall become of counsel in January 2018. Steve headed continued practicing with the firm until his passing in September 2022.
David White joined the firm as an associate and became a partner on July 1, 2000. Bert Slotkin joined as an associate in 2001 and became a partner on January 1, 2007. Kevin Skedsvold joined the firm as a partner on January 1, 2022. Angie Tartline, Hastings Johnston, and Rahul Sheth joined the firm as partners on September 1, 2022. Matt Cumper joined the firm and was elevated to partner on September 1, 2022.
The firm maintains a state-wide practice defending employers, insurance companies, and third-party administrators in workers’ compensation cases. Our clients have come to expect an aggressive approach with the aim to practice law with creativity and integrity. We value timely communication with our clients as the way to properly assess their needs and develop a plan for rapid resolution of claims in a favorable manner.
The partners in the firm share a distinguished record of involvement with the Workers’ Compensation section of both the Atlanta Bar Association and the State Bar of Georgia. Steve Head and David White have both served as Chair of the Workers’ Compensation Section of the Atlanta Bar Association. Steve Head served and Kevin Skedsvold currently serves on the Chairman’s Advisory Council to the State Board of Workers’ Compensation. Rahul Sheth serves on the Ethics Sub-Committee of the Chairman’s Steering Committee for the State Board of Workers’ Compensation Annual Conference. All of the partners speak frequently at various bar events on the topic of Georgia workers’ compensation.
