Andrea R. Mitchell

Andrea R. Mitchell re-joined Richter, Head, Shinall, White & Slotkin as a Partner in 2025 after spending 14 years as an Administrative Law Judge with the State Board of Workers’ Compensation.

Prior to adjudicating workers’ compensation cases in Savannah and Atlanta, she practiced law for more than 10 years specializing in representing Employers, Insurers, Self-Insureds and Servicing Agents/Third Party Administrators in workers’ compensation cases across the state of Georgia. Notably, she started her legal career at Richter Head right out of law school and is excited to return “home.”

Andrea is a 1987 graduate of Spelman College. After working various jobs in the private sector, she obtained a Master of Taxation in 1996. She attended Georgia State University College of Law part-time and earned her Juris Doctor in 2001. While in graduate school, she worked as a legal secretary for a very well-respected claimant’s attorney, which was the catalyst for law school.

Andrea has varied experience in all aspects of the workers’ compensation arena and after an impressive career as an ALJ is excited to bring her unique perspective back to representing Employers and Insurers in Georgia.
