Jim Richter is of counsel to the firm. He graduated from Williams College in 1974 with a B.A., cum laude. He majored in history. He graduated from Emory University School of Law in 1978. He has been licensed to practice law in Georgia since 1978. After graduation from law school, Jim was a prosecutor with the Cobb County Solicitor’s Office for two years. While there, he prosecuted numerous misdemeanor and traffic offenses. Jim subsequently worked as an Assistant District Attorney in DeKalb County for ten years. In that capacity, he prosecuted more than fifty murder cases and numerous other serious felony cases. As a prosecutor, Jim tried more than one hundred jury trials. Since 1991, Jim has focused his practice exclusively on the defense of workers’ compensation cases for employers and insurers. He has represented numerous insured and self-insured employers. He has also represented many of the major insurance companies that are involved in the workers’ compensation area. Jim has also represented employers and insurers in subrogation matters.
